The men I asked reckon that an attractive pussy should have full and firm outer lips which are nicely symmetrical. The crack should be a deep gully, and not gaping wide open. But the inner lips emerging from the crack do seem to be favourable to men. Women appear to agree that their outer lips should be full and firm, but they're not so sure about their inner labia protruding from their sex cracks. Both sexes agree that a raised mons pubis, the pubic bone area, is far more attractive and alluring than a flat mons veneris. In some girls, the pubic bone is so prominent that is pushes the vulval area out, giving the impression of huge and full outer lips.

As girls reach pubescence, their hips swivel in a downward direction. Their bottoms stick out more, and their vulval area follows the trend, taking the crack down between their thighs. With some girls, the crack and lips travel so far downwards that they show from behind when the girls bend over slightly. This, it seems, is a great turn on for many males. Most women agree that it is not attractive if the vulva travels so far back that the crack and lips are barely visible from the front. A gynaecologist friend of mine told me that there are extremes whereby the crack travels down between the thighs and isn't visible at all from the front. The other extreme is where the girl's hips don't swivel as she develops, leaving the crack and lips high up and fully visible from the front.

My gynae friend also said that there are extremes in the development of the inner labia. Some girls have virtually no inner lips, whereas others have huge flaps protruding from and extending a long way out of the closed crack. He also told me another interesting fact. The clitoris doesn't grow with age. From day one, birth, the clitoris is full size. Also, females are born with their life-time supply of ova or eggs. But that has nothing to do with this discussion.

As women age, their outer labia tend to deflate and become far less pronounced. Some young women have virtually no outer lips. The area either side of the crack is flat and smooth with next to no sign of outer labia. It seems that there is no normal look to the female genitalia. Pussies are so varied that it's difficult to decide whether one is ugly or attractive. Having said that, men and women agree that it is the fullness and firmness of the outer labia which constitute an attractive pussy. And most men agree that there is no such thing as an ugly pussy. However, some women disagree.

So, what is an ugly pussy? According the the girls I spoke to, an ugly pussy is one which is always gaping wide open with no outer lips rising either side of the crack. A gaping crack with flat or nonexistent outer lips is ugly, or so it seems. As one girl put it, an attractive pussy looks rather like a small bottom with neat buttocks separated by a nice tight crack. This, no doubt, is where the term 'front bottom' came from.

Not many women think about their pussies in terms of ugliness or attractiveness. Their concern is centred on the size and response of their clits and the tightness of their vaginas rather than the symmetry and fullness of their outer labia. Only one of the twenty-odd girls I spoke to said that she'd love to shave her pubes off, but daren't do it as she had no outer lips.

VULVAL AREA MOVED DOWN The first picture, sent in by Goldie, shows how the vulval area has moved down. This occurs during adolescence when the hips and pelvis swivel downward in preparation for childbirth in later years.
